This is a first draft of the terms for using Shortlist, written in plain words. It will be completed after legal review.

What Shortlist is

Shortlist is a directory. It lets people who offer creative work show a profile, and lets people who hire find and contact them.

Shortlist is not an agency and is not a party to any job. We do not arrange, pay for or guarantee any work, and we take no commission.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. By signing in you confirm that you are.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep access to your email address safe, because the sign-in code is sent there.

Your content

You keep the rights to your photos and text. By adding them you allow us to store them and show them in the app, to people who browse it, for as long as your profile is up.

You confirm that you have the right to share everything you add, and that it follows the Community rules.

A person on our team reviews every photo before it is shown. We may refuse or remove any photo or profile that breaks the rules.

Conduct

Follow the Community rules. We may pause or close an account that breaks them, or that is reported and found to be harmful.

What people tell you on Shortlist is their own responsibility. Check who you are dealing with before you meet or pay anyone.

Premium

A Basic profile is free. Premium is optional and adds the features listed on the Premium screen.

During the launch period every Premium feature is free for everyone, and nothing is charged. We will give notice in the app before the launch period ends.

Paid subscriptions are not open yet. When they open they will be sold through the App Store and Google Play at $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, in US dollars, under the terms of those stores, with a free trial of 7 days once per account. No payment details are asked for during the trial.

Advertising

Some businesses, such as studios, pay to appear in the app. These placements are always marked Sponsored.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Your profile comes down at once and your data is erased after 30 days.

We may change or stop the service. We will update these terms when the service changes.

No guarantees

We work to keep Shortlist running and its profiles genuine, but we cannot promise that it is always available or that every profile is accurate.
